Engine Coolant Heaters PDF Print E-mail

EngineThese units consume less than one litre of fuel per hour. Most have an electronic timer to let the driver set the unit to come on about one half hour prior to departure time. At the pre-set time the unit will come on and heat the engine coolant to approximately 140°F (60°C). This allows easy engine starting and immediate heat from the cab heater. Combined with a proper heat exchanger, these units can also supply heat to a truck cab or sleeper.
